Picture Polish Chillax

All right. My renovation process has finally started. Slow start but still a start. The past couple of weeks I've taken some time out to go choose the materials for the new house. Seriously never knew I could be so stumped and dazzled by tiles! I was at that tile store from 11 am to 3 pm and all I decided on was my floor tiles!

And there's so many other things to consider! Bathroom fixtures, kitchen fixtures... Gosh I wonder how my mom did this single-handedly previously!
I'm already having trouble with juggling taking off from work and the renovations! Each side seems to pile up everything I attend to the other side! Gosh!

Well, anyway, the point of all that was to let you guys know I might not have the time (or energy! It is seriously tiring!) for nails or nail art in the next couple of months. I already haven't been able to update my other travel blog for weeks!

I'm going to still do my best to keep posting. Well, in a way, nails are probably the only thing that going to help keep me sane during this chaos! Just that, it'll either be simple swatches or irregular posts. Just FYI.

Easy Peasy!

So last night, while flipping through the gazillion stamping plates that I now own, I figured that it's time I stop stamping and do something else instead.

Yeah, I know. Buy tons of stamping stuff and while going through them, then do something else?!
Feels a little silly.

But anyway, I diligently put away all the nice, new plates and instead pulled out another new purchase:
The latex-free cuticle guards from Bundle Monster.

Figured I'd put it to the test with a gradient. And OMG! I am so so so SO hooked!
Seriously why the hell did I take so long to get this! All my life I've wasted so much time and effort doing clean-ups! The hardest thing to do with these guards was when I was trying to place them on my right fingers. And even that wasn't too tough. Plus I love that even it accidentally gets onto the nails, it's not sticky enough to smudge or pull off the polish.

I've buying more. Definitely buying more. I've got to have a whole drawer of this!

Items used:
Polishes for gradient: Picture Polish Camo and Essie Go Overboard.
Topped with ILNP The Magician (which I'd rave about in another post another time).

I was going to add studs but this was too pretty to cover up.

Esssence Chic Reloaded

Here's the other Essence that was found together with Underwater (in previous post). Which was why I was pretty convinced I found a purge box. Seriously, today's Essence looked a lot better in photos than in real life. Essentially I needed to twist my hand to hold it at certain angles before it'll look good.

Not worth the effort walking around like I broke my arm in a weird way.

Essence Underwater

If you've read some of my earlier posts, you might have realised (or not) that I'm moving soon. To a place I can finally call my own. I'm incredibly excited (and at the same time in despair about the finances bit!).

Renovations is going to start soon in June, which may mean that I may temporarily have less time for the blog. Let's see how that'll go. But in the meantime, I've been slowly (by that I mean randomly) tidying up and getting prepared for moving.

Part of the tidying up also entailed discovering new polishes hidden or stowed away in boxes that were forgotten. Today's Essence is from one of such boxes. I suspect its a long-forgotten purge box though...

Happy Mother's Day

Mom and I aren't always the best of friends. A good friend of mine even calls our relationship unhealthily enmeshed. We fight pretty often and sometimes, the fights can get quite emotionally draining.
In fact, I'll be moving out from my parents' place soon. My attempt at giving us some distance and me gaining some independence. Obviously she doesn't understand why at this moment and some part of her thinks I'm abandoning her.

Yet, does that mean that we don't love each other?
Nope, when I'm sick, she fusses day and night over me. Now that I'm moving out, she's worried sick that I won't be able to take care of myself. She had a bad fall recently. That had brother and me re-scheduling our time to make sure she's cared for.
(She's a lot better now, in case you're wondering.)

Family love comes in all forms and patterns.
What matters most isn't an annual declaration but what we do every other day. (Besides, she's probably scream at me for wasting money if I were to buy her presents.)
I will never be able to always see eye to eye with mom, and I'm pretty sure I take her for granted sometimes.
But she'd always be the mom I'd run home to when I win awards, the mom I'd cry for when there's a flying cockroach in the room and the mom whose home cooking I'd always crave for.
