The Last of my Birthday Haul: Chanel Lavanda and Illamasqua Prismatic

Ok, I thought I was done with my Birthday Haul,
but apparently not. Heh.

I walked past the Chanel and Illasmasqua counters on my way to a bookstore,
and these 2 promptly joined in my celebratory buy.

Chanel Lavada and Illamasqua Prismatic.

Chanel Méditerannée Summer 2015 Collection:
Lavanda,
2 coats + Seche Vite TC

My pictures are again off for the purple,
Lavanda is closer to my watermark hue,
a warm-toned violet hue with the semi-jelly finish.

That's what I loved about Lavanda - the finish.

Illasmasqua Summer 2015 To Be Alive Collection:
Prismatic,
2 coats + Seche Vite TC.

Glorious glass-fleck baby blue.
I love how obvious the purple-pink-gold flecks are on the nails.
I fell in love with this the minute the polish hit my nail.

And the lights in my apartment lift gives you a much better idea just how magical Prismatic is.

I couldn't have ended my Birthday Haul with a better polish.

Nail Art Weekend: Half a Mermaid

My apologies for the lack of posts the past week.
I was under the mistaken impression that I would be able to write after work,
but obviously that never happened.

In fact, it wasn't just not writing up blog posts,
my nails were also naked for most part of the week.

And when they weren't naked,
this was how they looked like:

Polishes used were all from the OPI Color Paints collection:
Silver Canvas for base,
with sponged gradient using Purple Perspective, Turquoise Aesthetic and Landscape Artist.
I used vinyls from Vibrant Vinyls to create the fish scales look.

Heh. I was also experimenting to see if I could re-use those vinyls for multiple nails,
and I think you can see which nails had a fresh vinyl and which ones were re-used.
Lesson I learnt:
Just use a new one each time.
That gives you the best results.

I originally had also planned to embellish the nails with the wheel of sea-related studs that I had received from Born Pretty Store for review.
Unfortunately, I didn't realise that my nail glue had dried up,
and I wasn't confident that the studs would last if I had used topcoat to attach them.

One manicure that's half done,
way off what I had in mind,
but still looked completed.
Plus it lasted a good 3 days.

Not too bad for someone who had little time for nails.

Color Club Poptastic Pastel Neon Collection (Part 1)

All right, I figured that since it was my birthday month,
and I have my birthday haul,
I shall go about having fun with them for the rest of August.

Oh. And hopefully with a bit of nail art thrown in.
Well, later I mean.
For now, here's 2 of the Color Club Poptastic Pastel Neon polishes:

Color Club Hot-Hot-Hot Pants,
3 coats + Seche Vite TC
Peachy pink bright crème.

Ok, this is hot hot hot!
I love the colour,
just not the formula.
I have to say though, it's not as bad as some other pastels I have.
But that 3rd coat is definitely needed to smoothen things out.

Color Club Meet Me at the Rink,
3 coats + Seche Vite TC.
Bright sky blue pastel crème.

Again the 3rd coat is to smoothen things out on the nails.
Otherwise, another pretty one to love.

My Birthday Month Haul

I've been putting myself on a low-buy for a while.
For the very simple reason that The Stash is getting a wee bit out of hand for me.
There's just too many that I haven't even gotten around to swatching or wearing.

But hey! Birthday month!
So I lifted the self-imposed restriction,
and went on a buying spree.
Though I must say,
it's still quite a restrained spree.
I know I'm capable of a lot more...

Rescue Beauty Lounge (RBL) Blogger 3.0 Collection:
MakeupWithdrawal, Manicurator, Morning Light and Refined and Polished.

RBL Je t’aime! Je t’aime! Collection:
Ah, Oui and Trois Oignons Rouges

Then I laid my hands on the OPI Color Paints.
My friendly sales person was the one who advised me to get the box set
when he realised I was getting the entire collection.
He was telling me that the box set would be at the same price as 3 polishes,
but I'll get an additional nail art tool that comes with the box set.

Here's the tool;
it a brush on one end and a dotting tool on the other.
It's nicely packed in its own little container too!
Which I thought would make it really handy for travelling!

The 3 in the box set:
Silver Canvas, Turquoise Aesthetic and Pen & Pink

The remaining OPI Color Paints:
Chromatic Orange, Indigo Motif, Landscape Artist, Primarily Yellow and Purple Perspective.

Late to the party,
but I finally got the whole Color Club Poptastic Pastel Neon Collection:

Hot-Hot-Hot Pants, Feathered Hair Out to There, Diggin' the Dancing Queen,

Meet Me at the Rink, 'til the Record Stops, Under the Blacklight and Disco's not Dead.

Then my friend came back from Hong Kong with these nail stickers for me.
I love the heart and rocking horse one! Too cute!

Ok, this last batch of nail art stuff ain't bought.
It's sponsored by Born Pretty Store for another round of review,
but since the pack arrived just in time,
I consider it part of the birthday package.
