Chanel Summer 2015 Méditerranée Collection: Mediterranée

Chanel sure is churning out some really decent polishes this summer!
Here's another that I recently purchased,
and now that I've fallen in love with it,
I'm tempted to go back for her other siblings in the same collection.
(Heh. Sounds incestuous!)
2 coats + Seche Vite TC.
I can't decide if this is turquoise or teal.
But whichever you want to call it,
I'll just say it's gorgeous.

OPI Japan Exclusives: Celeb Sparkle and Sugar Cookie Pink

I know. I know.
Post holiday blues and yet here I am,
surrounding myself with everything Japanese.
From Japanese snacks and food, to anime, to Sanrio,
and now, Japan OPI exclusives.
It feels like I'm whipping myself with all these Japanese reminders...
Celeb Sparkle,
3 coats + Seche Vite TC.
Sheer silver-pink foil.
While this is not exactly a favourite of mine,
till now, for some strange reason,
I can't seem to bring myself to purge this bottle.
Sugar Cookie Pink,
3 coats + Seche Vite TC.
Pink jelly.
I had seller's remorse with this one,
and went around my sunny island hunting for a second bottle.
Ended up snagging this at retail when I finally found a last bottle languishing at the back of a departmental shelf.
Never letting this go again.

Post Holiday + Monday Blues

It's been 2 weeks since I'm back from Hokkaido, Japan.
However, I'm still afflicted with the post-holiday blues.
And to further complicate matters,
it's Monday as well...
Argh. I hate going back to reality.
I keep telling my partner I'm booking the next flight out again.
And what better way to combat the blues?
Blue polish spam!
My newest acquisitions from Chanel's Summer 2015 Blue Rhythm de Chanel Collection
(Some places have it as Blue Notes de Chanel Collection):
2 coats + Seche Vite TC.
Glorious vibrant royal blue crème.
I was already drawn to it in the bottle when I was browsing the Chanel counter,
but it's mind-blowing on the nails.
Creamy smooth too.
My new love.
No way I'm parting with this one.
China Glaze Spring 2011 Anchors Away Collection:
First Mate
2 coats + Seche Vite TC
Can you believe it's been 4 years already since the Anchors Away Collection?!
I think I still have some from that collection that I haven't even worn or swatched yet!
Anyway, First Mate is a navy blue crème that looks like dust's been added to it to give it a dull look.
Pretty enough still though.
Picture Polish 2013 Blogger Collaboration Shades:
Freya's Cats
3 coats + Seche Vite TC.
Electric blue jelly base with scattered holo bits.
Tell me what's not to love about this one?
I would stare at the sparkly nails and forget I'm back in the office.
Relvon Royal,
2 coats + Seche Vite TC.
Dark blue (almost black) jelly.
I honestly thought it would look a bit more blue than this.
Has my bottle degenerated?
Whatever it is, it reflected my dark mood at being back perfectly.
I couldn't ask for anything better.

New Kid on the Block: Lady Queen - Review

There's a new player in the market supplying nail art gizmos (and other stuff),
and I was fortunate enough to be contacted by them to do a review.
Some of you might already have heard of Lady Queen.
But well, if you haven't,
here's a short introductory paragraph that was sent by their PR rep, Perlie:

Phew. Ok, maybe not so short.
And maybe ignore some of the grammar and structural errors,
I didn't want to change anything in what was sent to me.
But it does sound like Lady Queen wants to be in serious business.
And free shipping?!
That's a bonus anytime!
I spent some time on the Lady Queen website.
It's actually pretty similar in format to Born Pretty Store's
so that makes navigating relatively simple.
But that's about as much as I can tell you for now,
I haven't actually made a purchase there yet myself,
but be sure I'll update on the blog when that purchase happens!
Speaking of which,
if you do head over to Lady Queen,
and want to make a purchase,
here's a 15% off coupon code for you!
So now that the code's out,
I've got to get the review done.
I was sent 2 items for review,
and I'm going to do the first one today:

This was what came in the mail for me.
I was initially super thrilled since these looked really pretty.
Until I saw this
Darn. My stickers had a long cut in them.
Sigh. Just my luck.
I actually debated on whether I wanted to ask for a replacement,
but eventuallu decided that I'll just make do with it.

For one, I honestly think this one's a freak.
I didn't even see the cut until I had it out of the package and in my hands.
I bought so many nail stickers,
and quite a number from this same brand.
While their stickiness sometimes varies,
they don't usually have cuts like this.
And lastly, I thought to myself that it's not like I can't use them at all.
Well, I'll definitely let Perlie know though,
so hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else.
Onto the stickers itself.
After the earlier Hello Kitty "fiasco"
(man... those were the thickest I've ever had),
I'll consider this lace decals of a decent thickness.
They're definitely not the thinnest I've ever had,
but they're definitely not thick and pretty manageable.
My only beef with them is that they didn't last a full day on my nails.
I did them early morning and by sunset,
I had at least four that were lifting from the corners of my nails.
Nevertheless, I find this lace set and the resulting nails art super pretty.
Seriously. I loved how it looked on the nails A LOT.
So much so, if I had a short event,
I wouldn't mind using them.
And in case you're wondering,
base polish is Chanel Mediterranee,
dry-brushed with Chanel Vibrato.
TC here was Seche Vite.
