Holiday Nail Art: Quickie Feathers
I had 45 mins to spare before I needed to head out to the gym,
and felt an urge for something a wee bit more interesting on the nails.
Grabbed my water decals and came up with this:
Unfortunately, as you can see,
I smudged my thumb a little and didn't have time to do anything about it.
Still, it was eye-catching enough that someone at the gym asked me about it,
and I spent a good 5 mins educating her about the wonders of water decals.
Base polishes are:
Misa Trust Fund,
and OPI Strawberry Margarita.
Water decals were bought from Born Pretty Store.

Nail Art Weekend: Oriental Flowers
This was one of my ideas of using the sheer/tint polishes.
It might be the polish combination that I chose,
but it sure turned out a lot better in my head.
Polishes and items used:
Addiction Black Leopard,
Dance Legend The Knight,
water decals.
Technique: The spotted water-marble.
Never mind.
I'm going try it again.

China Glaze City Flourish Collection: Strike a Rose
Just when I'm about to write off the entire China Glaze City Flourish Collection,
the last one to be swatched,
comes along and saves the collection from being labelled a complete disaster:
Strike a Rose,
2 coats + HK Girl TC.
Pink with subtle shimmer.
Strike a Rose did not have any of the weird issues with formula and application.
Colour payoff was great,
and it was easily opaque with no streaking.
Not a big fan of pink shimmer,
but still, redemption.

Nail Art Weekend: Distressed Watercolours + Stamping
Once I had all my OPI Sheer Tints,
I was excited to try recreating the Watercolours mani that I've been seeing all over Internet.
I added a little twist to mine,
and attempted to swipe on the Sheer Tints using the distressed method.
It was interesting how the Sheer Tints behaved when I did that.
I ended up with splotches of colour,
something which I suspect had to do with the consistency of the Sheer Tints.
I loved this so much that I didn't want to remove it,
even when it started showing signs of wear.
Instead, I chose to add some subtle stamping over it using Konad White polish and its plate m64.
Again, I loved the end result:

I have a few more ideas that I would like to experiment with the tints that I have.
Hopefully, I'll get around to it soon.

Tints
The OPI Sheer Tints collection reminded me of a couple of polishes in The Stash
that could pass off as tints as well.
Well, definitely not the same consistency that comes with the Sheer Tints,
but definitely sheer and tints that could be used the same way.
Addiction Black Leopard,
3 coats + Seche Vite.
Black jelly.
Black Leopard was also another purchase while I was in Japan.
Addiction was a brand that I could only get in Japan,
and I'm absolutely in love with their polish and make-up.
Black Leopard was touted as one of their best-sellers and I can see why.
OPI Be Magentale with Me,
2 coats + Seche Vite.
This was the last of the OPI Sheer Tint collection that took awhile to reach me.
You can see swatches of the other 3 in the collection here
Orly Bare Rose,
3 coats + Seche Vite.
Rose jelly.
Another favourite of mine, especially for French manis.
It just gives my nails a clean, healthy look.
