Nail Art Weekend: Disco-Mermaid

2 friends saw this set of manicure.
Friend A commented: "Ooooooooh, I know what you're trying to do here!"
Friend B: "So obvious!"
Friend A and B looked at each other.
A beat of silence,
then in unison.
Friend A: "Mermaid!"
Friend B: "Disco Balls!"
Friend A and B stared at each other.
A beat of silence.
Friend A and B stared down at my nails.
Another beat of silence,
then in unison.
"Yeah! That too!"
Next picture below was taken in the office lift.
Anyway, if my camera was a live thing,
it probably felt like it died a few times trying to help me get pictures of this Disco-Mermaid nails.
My nails kept flashing green from the glitters
and my camera just couldn't handle it.
Camera probably felt like being on the receiving end of the Avada Kedavra curse.

OPI Coca-Cola Collection: Coca-Cola Red and Green on the Runway

I'm a Coca-Cola addict.
So there was no way in hell I'll let a Coke-themed collection run by me
without at least picking up one.
I ended up getting two!
Coca-Cola Red,
2 coats + HK Girl TC
Classic bright red crème
Even if bloggers and other nail fanatics were to diss this as difficulty to apply,
there was no way I was going to pass up a bottle of polish
that is inspired by and named after one of my favourite drinks.

Thankfully, there was none of that.
In fact, this one was a piece of cake to deal with!
And I even thought that I could get away with just a coat.
Green on the Runway,
2 coats + HK Girl TC.
Shimmering green to red-brown duochrome.
Love how OPI jazzed up this collection with an interesting duochrome.
This was the one in the whole collection that I was looking forward to the most.
Coca-Cola red was a must-get because hey! Coke = Red.
But Green on the Runway stole my heart from the get-go.
Last 2 pictures were taken indoors in a bid to show you the beautiful duochrome shift.
Think I might have to make my camera work harder though.

My tiny nail haul since October

I haven't been buying much polish in recent months.
There's this stronger desire to try to shop The Stash instead of buying new ones.

Though I have to say, I haven't been updating and doing a purge for a long time now.
And I really should get my ass down to it soon.
So in these 2 months, here's what I managed to buy:
OPI Nordic Collection:
My Dogsled is a Hybrid, My Voice is a Little Norse, and Viking in a Vinter Vonderland.
This was a Etude House Halloween pack
I picked up prior Halloween on a day trip out across the Causeway.
Never got around to using it as intended for Halloween though.
Closeup of what's inside the Pumpkin Moonshine Party Nail Pack.
It was the stickers that made me get the pack.
They were just too adorable to resist.
I have to say though,
the polishes do make me think of tasty pumpkin soup!

Essie 2014 Resort Collection: Resort Fling

I figured since I already did 1 out of the 2 polishes from this collection,
I might as well wear the remaining one and post it up on the blog.
Essie Resort Fling,
2 coats + HK Girl TC.
Well. This is probably the first Essie Resort polish that I'm terribly disappointed with.
Most descriptors online describe it as a coral jelly that leans a little peach.
Sounds pretty good, doesn't it.
Unfortunately, it has the ability to turn my fingers into some pasty grey lobster.
Yeah. I was quite stunned that my fingers managed to look grey and red at the same time.
Gave me an idea how lobsters might look if they were sick.

Nail Art Weekend: Argyle Love

Recently, I've been intrigued by the negative space manicures that I've been seeing on Pinterest. There are several really nice ones that I would like to replicate one day.

When I first started on this, I wasn't really in the mood for nail art.
Hence I thought I'll just do something really easy,
and I thought about negative space as well.

Heh. Nothing is more simple than not painting some nails right?

Ended up loving this a lot though.
It was really easy but very pretty.,
It even inspired me to be on the lookout for a argyle cardigan.
In fact I had it on for 3 days.
And I was so upset that it rained for the entire 3 days!
The office lights are just not good for photo taking.
Items used:
OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls,
argyle water decals from Born Pretty Store.

Misa Spring 2011 9 to 5 Collection: Working Hard or Hardly Working

Totally lol-ed at the name of this polish.
Love it to the max!
Working Hard or Hardly Working,
2 coats + 1 coat HK Girl TC.

Light grey crème that's absolutely work appropriate.
Love how the polish name totally describes my current work situation.
I'm enjoying my current position,
so much so that some days I feel like I worked freaking hard,
and on others, it feels like I'm hardly working at all since its something I enjoy.
The best kind of situation you can ask for at work.
