Ulta After Hours + Subtle Triangles

I had forgotten that I still have this,
until recently when I was going through The Stash trying to de-stash.

From the Ulta Glam Goth mini set,
this is After Hours.

3 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite TC
After Hours was actually ok in 2 coats,
but because I had some bald patches,
I did a third.

After Hours is an eggplant shimmer that comes across as almost black indoors and under low lights. There's a blue slant to the shimmer that's quite pretty when the sun hits it.
However, to be honest,
this one really isn't all that unique.

I got bored enough with After Hours,
and decided on a tape manicure.

The triangles are done in Picture Polish Freya's Cats.
In hindsight, I probably should have picked a brighter blue,
the triangles were really subtle indoors.
However, it glows beautifully when in sunlight.

Please do excuse the horrid cuticles.
The nail art photos were taken on the third day I had this mani,
and by then, my skin was acting up again with eczema.

Now, I can't wait to try my new Picture Polish blues.
And After Hours also reminded me of another polish that I should wear again...

Dance Legend Prism #9 Robots vs Humans

Too many pictures of a too awesome polish.
Dance Legend #9 Robots vs Humans.
Love the name too.

2 coats over Nfu-Oh Aqua Base, no TC.
Love the brown holo.
I don't own many brown holos that looks as good as this.

China Glaze Halloween 2013 Monster Ball: Fang-tastic

The last one I bought from the Monster Ball collection:
Fang-tastic

I apologise for the lack of photos.
I was out at a retreat and took these photos while on lunch break.
Unfortunately, the skies decided to rain at that moment.

1 coat Fang-tastic over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls,
topped with Seche Vite TC.

Again, another polish that was pretty but failed to impress.
The blue hex glitters stand out as the only bigger-sized glitter in the polish.
The other smaller ones were in the colours of pink, green and blue.

It's a clear based polish,
so this one's good for a glitter topper over most other polishes.

However, with the amount of amazing glitter toppers that are being churned out nowadays,
this one falls really short of what its name implies.

It's a sad day when I'm not excited and is in fact disappointed with a Halloween collection.

China Glaze Halloween 2013 Monster Ball: Boo-Gie Down

Got a little time this morning to post this before I get to work.

1 coat China Glaze Boo-Gie Down over Etude House DGR704 Only Olive,
topped with a coat of Seche Vite TC.

Ok, finally a more decent polish in this collection.
It still underwhelms me,
but I've got no major issues with Boo-Gie Down.

The 3 main glitter colours you'll see in Boo-Gie Down are black, white and a copper-gold.
Glitter shapes include the smaller round glitters (black and copper-gold),
hex glitters (all 3 colours)
and the the bar glitters (black only).

Pretty but nothing fantastic.
Like I said, I'm underwhelmed.

China Glaze Halloween 2013 Monster Ball: Bat my Eyes

All right.
Here's the second polish I've tried from the Monster Ball collection:
Bat my Eyes.

Ok, I was getting tired of dealing with glitter removal,
hence this was 1 coat Bat my Eyes over 1 coat A-England Camelot,
topped with a coat of HK Girl TC.

To be honest, I'm disappointed with both the Halloween polishes I've tried so far.
I kinda expected more from China Glaze,
since they did such a great job in the past couple of years.

Bat my Eyes consists of gold glitters and orange bar glitters in a black base.
The issue I have here is that the gold glitters overwhelm the orange bars.
As it is, those orange bar glitters seem sparse in the bottle.

In fact, I found the gold glitters so overwhelming,
that it seemed like yet another gold in black polish.
If there had been more orange bar glitters,
perhaps the polish might have been a tad more special.

Oh well.
I hope the remaining two would be better...
