Today I bidded farewell to a very dear friend.
Those of you who have read my blog for the past years
would have known that I had someone close to me who came down with acute myeloid leukemia.
CT lost the fight after almost 3 years of battle.
My dear CT,
I'm very glad that I managed to show you this set of nails before you left us.
But I never told you the story behind this.
I've been trying to go through my polishes
to make space for the coming renovations.
And I picked up the 2 polishes that you gave me,
and I missed you terribly.
So I used the 2 Anna Sui bottles and came up with this nail art.
Krist told me that you saw my app messages.
She told me that you were pleased with it and loved it a lot.
I just wish now that I could have been there to show you personally.
But I am glad that I managed to do this for you before you left us.
You promised you wouldn't give up easily.
We know you fought hard.
To the very end.
You were amazingly brave
and faced death with defiance and at the end, with a smile.
Seriously babe, you taught all of us a lesson on courage there.
You have my utmost admiration.
I know you are at peace now.
Your pastor told us that you are happy now with The Lord.
That we have beautiful memories to remember you by.
Well, knowing you my dear,
it won't be enough for you.
So yes, there are beautiful memories,
but so much more so,
you have left an impact.
It was hard walking this last journey with you,
the hardest you've ever made me do.
But I am blessed to have you as my friend,.
I almost missed the boat on today's featured polish.
It so happened that when this polish was released in Singapore,
I was going to go on a trip.
Made the silly decision to wait to get it at Duty free at the airport,
only to be told that they were sold out.
In fact, they were sold out on many polishes I had on my to-buy list.
(Several Estee Lauders and Diors were included in that list)
So when I came back after the trip,
I had to make a couple of calls to various Chanel counters to ensure that I had this bottle.
Next time I'll just haul ass down asap.
2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite TC
This one's gorgeous.
Think along the lines of OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest and German-icure by OPI.
Had a busy and crap week at work,
which usually means I have no time to bother with my nails.
However, a 4-day old St Petersburgundy mani was beginning to bug the hell outta me,
hence at 2 am in the morning,
I got up to layer a coat of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuschia over it.
Yeah. It was REALLY bugging me.
Well. The work too.
Not too bad for a 6-day St Petersburgundy based mani eh.
Earth Hour is a global movement initiated by WWF
that aims to unite people around the world to protect our Mother Earth
and to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change.
Towards the end of March every year,
communities from across the globe celebrate this committment to our planet
by switching off the lights for 1 designated hour.
The 60+ logo also reminds us that this commitment is not just limited to that 60 mintues,
it should also extend beyond the designated hour.
An interesting fact that I found while going through the Earth Hour website:
Earth Hour is held annually in late March
to coincide with the Spring and Autumn equinoxes in both hemispheres.
This means that sunset timings in both hemispheres are near coincidental,
thereby ensuring the greatest visual impact of a global lights-out event.
How cool is that!
My own little contribution to this event:
Etude House WH012
