Purge will be postponed again

My sincere apologies to all,
but the purge will have to be postponed once again.
Work has taken over my life for the time being.
The purge will be up instead on 1 March 2013, 9 am Singapore time.

Rescue Beauty Lounge: Piu Mosso

Yesterday, I showed you guys a polish that I absolutely adored.
Today, I'm showing one that I'm absolutely disappointed in:

RBL Piu Mosso.

I got Piu Mosso in one of their "Bring It Back"s.
There was this period where I was kicking myself in the ass for not getting it originally
when it was released.
The online swatches I saw were amazing.
I fell in love with the copper shimmer that was so apparent in several swatches.
I mean just take a look at that damn bottle!
I was freaked when I first laid hand on my bottle,
it was a "Holy Hell. I want this shimmer on my nails" moment.

2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite TC
Seriously. Where did all that damn shimmer go?!
So this one's going into the purge which will be held tomorrow instead of today.
(Just in case if you didn't see the announcement).

Essence Snow White Collection: #04 Happy

First of all, I need to alert everyone that the purge for this month will be pushed back by a day.
That's because I have been so busy with work these past few days,
I haven't had time to sort out the purge polishes.

So pls note that the purge will now be held on 27th Feb at 9 am Singapore time.
In the meantime, here's a swatch post of a polish from the Essence Snow White collection:
#04 Happy

2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite TC
Happy is a yellow that reminds you of the colour of egg yolks.
In fact, my friend called this my egg yolk nails.

And when I chipped my nails,
(Yeah. Damn it.)
it was "Oh! Your eggs broke!"
Erm.... Yeah.

Year of the Water Snake

The month of February has brought an incredible amount of rain.
It's been raining almost every day here in Singapore,
and the more superstitious are saying that
it's because this is the Year of the Water Snake.
Hence the inspiration for this set of nail art.
Snake skin nails!
And blue to symbolize water.

Polishes used are:
A-England Holy Grail,
A-England Galahad, and
OPI I Saw... You Saw... We Saw... Warsaw (What sort of a crap name is this?!).
I have to say,
the A-England base and top coats are pretty awesome.
This set of nails lasted for a good 7 days without any chipping.
The photos you see here were taken on the 5th day.
Pretty good eh.

Etude House PPK006

Etude House has been coming up with some really good glitters recently.
I find myself popping into their stores frequently just to check out if they have any new glitters because the ones I got have gotten me swooning.
Like this one here:

PPK006 4 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite TC
This one is pretty sheer.
I needed all of the 4 coats to build up to bottle colour.
Even then, I'm quite pleased with it.
Love how the glitters look sandwiched between the milky layers.
Yeah. I really think Etude House is on a glitter roll.

Savina Hearts

Valentine's Day was also the 5th day of the Chinese Lunar New Year,
so I decided to combine both occasions on the nails.

I picked a bright red, OPI Vodka and Caviar to symbolise the New Year,
and then took out Savina Hearts for V-day.

And this is what I ended up with.

Hope everyone had a good V-day.

Black Valentines

Back to V-day nail art.
Unfortunately, I wasn't pleased with this set.
I had kept the black lace stickers for too long,
and it started flaking when I applied the topcoat over it
which resulted in my mani have black streaks and spots.
The 2 days when I had this on, it rained all day.
So the pictures were taken in the office under florescent lights.
Polishes used were:
Studio M Blue Glitter, and
Essie Raise Awareness.
The tiny black hearts were done using Essence Black is back and a dotting tool.

Love the idea.
Hate the end result.
Crappy nails sticker. Boo!

Happy Lunar New Year!

To all my Chinese readers,
here's wishing you a Happy Lunar New Year!
Gong Xi Fa Cai!
Unfortunately, while I totally enjoyed my first set of CNY nails,
the rainy and gloomy day didn't allow for photos.
Plus, I had to remove the nail art as I managed to chip my them on scotchtape
(Of all things?! Tape?!)
So all I have for you guys are crappy photos taken in my room.
Sigh. I really loved the nail art.
I was inspired by Loqi, the guest blogger at Love, Varnish, Chocolate and More
Made a few changes,
like attempting a snake skin background instead of the saran wrap.
Polishes used were:
-England Holy Grail and
OPI Vodka and Caviar.
Will definitely re-create this one another time.
