OPI Pamplona Purple vs Zoya Demi

There are some shades that I keep finding myself drawn to.

This being one of them:
OPI Pamplona Purple,
and Zoya Demi

Another bottle comparison shot.

Pinky and Middle fingers: OPI Pamplona Purple
Ring and Index fingers: Zoya Demi

2 coats each + 1 coat Color Club QDTC

I've since found a third dupe bottle in my stash!
Color Club Ms Socialite.

Seriously. How many times must I purchase up a colour?

I mean I have no issues with the application of both these polishes.
But I don't need like 3 bottles of the same shade do I?
Do you guys do this too?
Like you just keep buying the same shade from different brands?

Last pic is taken indoors.

ROFL, they are seriously dupes! I only buy dupes or very similar colours when the formula or quality of the first one bothers me. Otherwise one is enough!

Haha yeah I kinda do that too, never had serious dupes but most of the time I think: 'I don't have this colour yet, let's buy it!' and when I go through my stash I already own 2 similar bottles...

Tell me about it guys! I mean, it's not like there were issues with the application from any of these polishes, so really it's not like I'm looking for alternatives or backups! Argh! I better find a system of reminding myself what colours I already have so I'll stop doing this!!

I am prone to zeroing in on pinks & purples like a magpie, especially if they have glitter. LOL To help me avoid dups & near dups I made a swatch book of all of my polishes, organized by color, to take with me when I have a 'nail polish emergency' & just have to go see what's new in the stores. (hubby came up with the name) I list the brand name, color name & numbernext to a swipe of the actual polish, as well as whether it's a mini bottle. The note pad I use has thicker pages than most pads. This is needed or the polish can soak thru. Alas, it's only some help when buying online due to monitor color variations, but it does help me not buy 2 of the exact same polish & does limit my buying colors that appear similar in the bottle. Each polish haul gets added to the note book before it gets put away & I do a test nail on a plastic tip so I know if it's a 2 or 3 coat polish. I then us the painted tips for testing nail art ideas.

Wow! That's really a lot of effort you put there into your polishes! I'm astounded!

True! LOL Think of the set up as a chance to organize & play with all of your polishes! Logging in new polish gives me an idea of what the real color is vs what it looks like in the bottle. Just last night I bought a Wet n' Wild Wild Shine polish called 'Blue Moon'. It looked green in the bottle! (I think I got it just to see what it looked like out of the bottle. LOL) When I swatched it into my polish index it turned out to be a dark blue with dark green micro glitter that creates a minimal duo chrome effect. I like it!

Indexing one's polish collection may not be for everybody, but it does help me keep track of what I have & avoid buying too many polishes that look alike or nearly so.

It happens all the time. You love one color and then you find and even better similar shade with a different brand.
