OPI Glow Ink in the Dark

OPI mini bottle of Glow Ink in the Dark
This one is from last year's Halloween set.

4 coats + 1 coat SV

It was really sheer and I actually comtemplated doing a 5th coat
but it was already past midnight by the time I got to that 4th coat,
so I didn't bother.

and it really does glow in the dark!

Unfortunately, my camera couldn't pick that up =(
It only glows when it is really pitch-black dark
but whenever I start pointing my camera in the dark,
it emits some sort of a red beam and nothing shows up on screen =(

Otherwise this one is quite a pretty colour
I wouldn't mind if OPI came up with one like this that didn't have that glow-in-the-dark effect.

The last 2 are taken indoors.

I'm really curious though:

1) Would the glow-in-the-dark effect still work if I were to layer this over another polish?
I don't wanna waste that precious little mini bottle

2) How do you guys get those glow-in-the-dark pictures?

China Glaze Mummy May I

The last of the China Glaze Awakening set:

3 coats + 2 coats SV

which chipped in less than 24 hours that I had this mani on.
Thank goodness I was lugging the bottle around for photo shoot,
so I could do a quick repair

Didn't like this polish on me either.
Somehow, I kept looking at it,
and thinking how Zoya Roxy looked a hell lot better

Plus it was still a little bumpy even with 2 coats of SV
and that irritated the hell outta me.

Oh well, it looks like I'm only keeping Zombie Zest outta the entire set.

BCA 2010

Apologies for the lack of posts.
Its been really hard to get decent pictures recently cos of the weather we're having.
A lot of my pics have ended up looking greyed or washed out. =(
Not too hopeful that the weather will clear up in the next few weeks either.
Oh well. Nothing I can do about it.

Anyway, back to the post proper.

I haven't forgotten that October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month.
But apart from that, I also want to honour all who are battling their way through one form of illness or another,
or have battled their way,
as well as their family members and loved ones who accompanied them on their journey.

Used Etude House #43 as the base for this one,
and Art Club stripers.

Orly Satin Hues: Satin Society

So I figured its about high time I get started on some of the old-school Orly polishes that I managed to get my hands on

Unfortunately, don't think I'm taking to this range at all.

Its totally brush-strokey
Sheer as well.

After Ick-A-Bod-Y,
I was worried that I would be disappointed with the entire Awakening set.

Really like Zombie Zest! =)

MAC Imperial Flower

Ok, I know you guys have probably seen a gazillion online swatches of the MAC Jin Soon 2010 Nail Trend polishes,
especially those of Jade Dragon.

Well, I like Jade Dragon too,

but the one that I really wanted to wear first was MAC Imperial Flower.
Don't usually go for oranges but this one was HAWT!

2 coats + 1 coat SV

Ok, I don't like the MAC polish brushes,
but hell they've been churning out some pretty decent polishes recently.

I'm sorry its been hazy over in Singapore recently,
otherwise you would have been better able to appreciate the awesome foil-shimmer in this one.

Halloween Kitties

Ok, finally the first set of Halloween nail art for 2010.
It was done using:
Orly Bare Rose, MAC Imperial Flower, OPI Black Onyx

and this set of nail art stickers.
I totally adore Halloween nail art stickers!
Somehow, there's just something special about Halloween stuff.
Unfortuately I haven't been able to find one that has Halloween pumpkins...

Before I get to the pictures though,
I have to let you guys know that I rotated the pictures before uploading.
While doing the stickers, I kinda forgot the orientation,
and stuck it the other way round.

I actually tried a variety of positions while taking pics
but they somehow all look weird.
Eventually, I just went with the usual position.
Still looks kinda strange though with the rotated pics.

So here you go, the 1st Halloween nail art for 2010:

For CT: PODz Event

Hey babe,
I sent you an email last night.
Thought I'll show you even more pics of the event

The ones here were from my own camera,
so nothing as nice as the ones I emailed you =)

First off, the deco in the Function Room.
Really loved the rainbow and balloons theme that you guys came up with!
It made everything so cheerful!

Some close-up of the ones on stage.
Poh Poh was a little upset that there didn't seem to be enough balloons

The static display that was a lot of work by the team!
And hell to transport!
It looks normal in the pic, but it was 4 huge mounting boards stuck together.
I helped out a little with sticking down stuff
but I have no idea how they managed to transport it down! =P

ok, more balloons.
But Marie and I were really taken with the black star balloon.
But dunno how, at the end of the event, there was only 1 of the star balloon left =(
Since both Marie and I wanted it, we compromised and brought it back to the office instead!

Rainbow umbrella for the rainbow themed event!
hahaha... we all liked the umbrella so much,
now 5 people in the office own that exact same umbrella!
and seriously, its a really good photo prop!
All the pictures taken with that brolly looks really good!

These cards were also used in the instant photo booth

heh. and this last picture of balloons was just me trying to get some artistic shot.
somehow, it didn't turn out the way I expected it to.
Blaming it on lousy lighting (instead of the lousy camerawoman)

and of cos, how can I forget the nails!
Was extremely tired the night before,
But I promised to get the nails done in rainbow.

Sinful Agaci over Essie Sew Psyched

Here's the layering combination that has me swooning

2 coats of Sinful #203 Agaci over the Essie Sew Psyched mani that I posted yesterday.

I was in-charge of running a work event the day I was sporting this mani.
And heh. I couldn't help but keep sneeking peeks at my nails when no one was around.

Kinda thought that if there were opals in the world of mermaids,
this might be how they would look like.

I remember when I first got Sinful Agaci,
it came together with 3 other Sinful glitters:
Pearl Harbour, Kansas and Opal Glitters.

And I remember that when I looked at the bottles,
I was the least impressed with Agaci and Kansas.
But now, I don't think I'm ever purging Agaci.
Its awesome when layered with the right polish!

Now I can't wait to see what might Kansas bring =)

It was 4 bottles for USD$1 by the way!
What a steal right!
