LaRosa #PF5 Seawead

I wanted a green mani for the trip to the Botanic Gardens
and since this was something I needed to swatch before sending it out

I ended up with LaRosa #PF5 Seawead

3 coats + 1 coat Poshe

The polish itself was a little sheer but definitely buildable to bottle colour.
No issues with application otherwise.

Pretty glowy yellow-green.
Doesn't suit my asian skin-tone (pity)
but I definitely can see someone else rocking such a colour.

Les Khakis De Chanel

I received the mailer for the launch of the new Chanel collection:

LES KHAKIS DE CHANEL

A new harmony of three limited edition nail polish shades
that can be worn alone or combined:
Khaki Vert, Khaki Rose, Khaki Brun

A bold way of wearing nail polish
An ultra sophisticated urban chic "camouflage",
for nails that will be getting all the attention

Actually, after reading the mailer,
what I'm really curious to find out is how they can be combined.

Do they mean layering?
It would be really interesting, cos these look quite pigmented to me.
Or is there some new way of combining?
Anyone has any clue??

For those of you who would be interested in getting these,
the Chanel collection will be launched exclusively from 1 September to 8 September 2010 at the Marina Bays Sands Chanel counters.
Its not indicated in the mailer how much these retail for,
but thus far, Chanel polishes are at SGD$35 a pop.

For CT: HLS at the Botanic Gardens

Last Friday, we had our Healthy Lifestyle Activity at the Botanic Gardens.
Initially Melvin (the organiser) was kinda afraid that our plans would be spoilt
cos it was pouring super duper heavy in the morning.

Thank goodness the sun cleared in time
and we had ourselves a really sunny good time.

Its been a really long time since I've been to the Botanic Gardens
I've forgotten how peaceful that place can be.

Our first stop was the Swan Lake.
The last time I was there, they locked up the swans cos they were doing some maintanence.
This time we got really lucky =)

The swans were even bigger than I expected
Maybe its Disney or all the cartoons and fairy tales,
but I kinda thought that swans are like fluffy little things that can be carried and snuggled.
But these are really huge in real life!
Rachael and I got kinda scared to stick our hands and feet out =P

See! The classic heart shape!

We spent a really long time at the Swan Lake just fooling around and taking photos.
Marie brought along her huge-ass SLR Camera.
heh... I think between the 2 of us,
we have like a gazillion photos of the swans.

The other place where we spent quite a bit of time taking photos was this mini waterfall thing.

They built a man-made walkway under the water feature
Very cool and cooling too =P
We spotted 2 couples taking their wedding photos here!
heh... actually we spent quite a bit of time fooling around and hogging that place
we didn't realise that the couples were waiting for us to clear off!

Pretty sure you can tell which fruit this is.

Can you identify this place?
Its Villa Halia!

and here's the restaurant where long ago, we had a really lovely meal.
Speaking of which, that particular boy met Shanti recently.
He's doing well and still working as a waiter, but in another place.

We stopped to rest near the Villa Halia,
where there was a Banana Gallery and the Orchid Garden as well.

And I have to show you this one that resembles a penis!
We were in a uproar over this photo

Then I must show you this photo that I took...

Thought it was pretty artistic =)
On a digital point-and-shoot camera!

This is how it actually looks like without the play of lights

Last stop for the day was this Lily Pond that we passed by
We took a couple of group photo shots here
they look pretty decent on Marie's camera actually
but in truth, by then we were all pretty tired and hot.

On the way out, we came across this super huge tree.
Think it must be pretty old!
That's me in the photo trying to let you have a scale idea of how seriously big this tree was.

Dear, I thought this would be a way to keep you posted on stuff that we are doing.
Hopefully this way, you won't feel like you're losing touch with us.

OPI Megawatt?! over Misa I'm Going to Love Myself

Chipped the earlier Misa mani,
but didn't have time to re-do a proper one.
So I just grabbed OPI Megawatt?!
and quickly slapped a coat on in under 2 mins...

Missing the bottle picture of Megawatt?!
I have no idea where in the archives it went to..

But here's the result of the combo:

Taken in the early morning sun

Next 2 were taken in the mid-day sun.

There was a colleague who liked the combo,
but it didn't rock my boat.
heh... this colleague made a fuss about me removing the mani after a day
erm. my nails. my choice.
*sigh*
Though I was the polite, diplomatic girl that day and didn't say anything nasty.

For CT: Misa I'm Going to Love Myself

CT,
The next polish up for you is by Misa and its called I'm Going to Love Myself.

I googled and read up about your condition.
So when I read your email, I was so relieved to hear the news!
Keep me posted about every cycle k.

I told mama about it too
and she wants me to tell you that you need to make sure you eat
so you have the energy to fight this.
She stressed that even when you have no appetite,
you HAVE TO eat something k.

There are also a lot of survivor stories on the internet.
I tried to go through them and pick out tips and/or themes for you.

Then I realised that you probably would know them anyway:
Follow the medical routine, eat regular and eat well, rest well,
keeping the spirits up, determination, etc etc
There was one article on the medical treatments but I got lost in all the medical jargon.

So today's polish is another tagline for you to remind yourself that you are going to love yourself,
and you're going to do whatever it takes to get well k

Nail Art of the Past

I thought I better post this one up since its been stuck a while in my archives
otherwise it'll get lost given the klutz I am with technology...

Polishes used are:

OPI Pink Caramel

OPI Starbright Sparkles II

Here's a close-up of the very light glitter in Starbright Sparkles II
You can't tell in my pics,
but IRL, it makes the base for the french mani more interesting.

Both Pink Caramel and Starbright Sparkles II are Japan exclusives
(and they cost a bomb to get...)

Essence Nail Art Striper in #04 Pink!

And here's the NOTP:

If I don't remember wrongly, these photos were taken in a jiffy.
It was a rainy period for several days and when the sun suddenly came slanting in through the kitchen window,
I remember dropping the laundry to grab the camera
