This one's taken in the early morning sun.

Pinky & Index - Etude House RD010 (3 coats + 1 Diamont)
Ring - Color Club Ruby Slippers (2 coats + 1 Diamont)
Middle & Thumb - China Glaze Ruby Pumps (2 coats + 1 Diamont)

The next 3 pics are taken in the afternoon sun

Hopefully, you can tell that Color Club is just that tad brighter than the other 2
Ruby Slippers was also opaque in 1 coat, but I did 2 anyway.
Unfortuantely, the only drawback for this polish is that you'll probably need 2 coats of TC,
otherwise it can feel rather bumpy

The Etude House and China Glaze are more like dupes for each other.
Only thing was the Etude House version needed the 3rd coat to be opaque
Otherwise there really isn't any other issue.

If I had to choose only one, I'll definitely go for Ruby Slippers.
In fact, I think its one of the polishes that I use a lot more often in my nail art
The glitter is just too pretty
*although my pictures doesn't seem to capture it that well*

They're blinding!

Painted in order:
Pinky - Nubar Absolute
Ring - SH Blue Aura
Middle - OPI DS Sapphire
Index - Nfu-Oh #065
Thumb - Streetwear Prince Charming

For comparison purpose, all were done in 3 coats + 1 coat Diamont.
In fact, almost all the polishes needed the 3rd coat.
The only one that I could probably get away with 2 coats would be the OPI.

Prince Charming was the most sheer, and probably might even do better with a 4th coat.
Prince Charming is also the most different from the entire lot.
It not only has holo glitter, its also a duochrome to boot.
Flashes a lot of gold.
Unfortunately, I don't think pictures of a single thumb swatch were able to capture that duochrome.
I'll have to do a proper mani for that in a future post.

Have heard that Nfu-Oh holos look best with their Aqua Base and Topcoats.
I don't know if that really makes a difference, but I definitely had application problems with my Nfu-Oh.
Had to be really really careful with the 3rd coat to even out the streakiness.

And it was the same for the Sally Hansen one.
3rd coat had to be done really carefully.
But those 2 were the most holo of the entire lot.
and I really love the base colour of Blue Aura.

Sapphire was one of my first blue OPI that I purchased so it really has some sentimental value for me.
heh. the fact that it glides on smooth and opaque in 2 coats didn't hurt either

And in this lot of 5, Absolute was the one that wow-ed me the least.
It looks pretty in the sun, but the holo pales in comparison with the rest really.
Probably another one that I need to do on its own to appreciate it better.

Kinda shows the base colour without the holo to distract.

Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm.
This is the first time I'm trying a polish from Diamond Cosmetics,
and I must say I'm pretty impressed with its application.
Just pissed that international ship is ridiculous the last I checked.

However, in real life, probably only OPI MPJ and China Glaze Lets Do It in 3D would need the 3rd coat.
The others were opaque in 2 coats

But seriously, the ones that needed the 3rd coat looked the best outta the entire lot

heh. this time round the driver asked what I was doing.
To save myself the hassle, I just replied that I was trying out my camera =P

and the ones taken at night with the camera flash.

Gold Holo Comparisons

Ok, I've lined up a few comparison posts for the next few days
Figured it'll be one of the fastest way to get through the stash
and also to see if there are any dupes I should get rid of

Here are the polishes for today's post:

H&M Cha Cha

OPI DS Classic

Color Club Love 'em Leave em'

OPI Opening Night Gold

And here they are all lined up in a row.
This one's taken when the sun was shining through

Indoors, no sun

and here they are on the nails.
ahem... pls try to ignore the dry skin.
Took these just outta the shower and haven't moisturised yet
(damn marco for showing up every flaw)

In order:
Pinky - Love 'em Leave 'em
Ring - Opening Night Gold
Middle - Classic
Index - Cha Cha

All are 2 coats + 1 coat Diamont

I don't have any issues in application with all 4 polishes
*although my DS Classic has a wonky bristle*

As you can see (hopefully), colour wise, the Color Club and the 2 OPIs are the closest.
They're more flesh-toned while the H&M one comes across as somewhat more of a champagne-gold
(and unfortunately the more un-flattering one on my skin-tone).

Cha Cha also happens to be the least holo of the lot.
The prettiest holos also happens to be the 2 OPIs, although classic comes across as a scattered holo while Opening Night Gold is the linear version.
Love 'em Leave 'em just falls a little short of the 2 OPIs
