2 coats of #51 over 1 coat of OPI Black Onyx + 1 coat of goopy SV

Actually, after HT, I'm not too wow-ed by this one

Might have to do it on its own to better appreciate it.

Nail Board's 2010 Top 20 list

Sorry guys for the lack of posts this week.
I've been incredibly busy at work lately.
I'm in-charge of bringing a bunch of youths for a Service Learning trip to West Timor next week,
hence been running around getting things ready,
and didn't have the time to sit down and blog.

But I figured I shouldn't delay getting this list out =P

Battle of the Dupes: The Chanel Jade Dupes

Nope, I don't own the infamous Chanel Jade.
I'm not too keen on the Chanel polishes given how easily they chip off me.
And at the price they're selling it, they should wear like iron!

I managed to get my hands on its dupes though.
Again all through courtesy of NB'bers and wonderful readers =)
XOXOXO

Catrice Sold Out Forever

Claire's Dream Catcher

Milani Dress Maker

And they are:
Pinky and Index: Catrice Sold Out Forever
Ring: Claire's Dream Catcher
Middle: Milani's Dress Maker

3 coats + 1 coat SV each

Of the 3, I prefer the application of the Catrice one the most -
it was the smoothest to apply.
Claire's formula was a little runny,
while the Milani one was goopy.

However the green shimmer in the Milani one was the most obvious (and prettiest!)

I don't know how they compare to Jade, so no comments there.
But while these 3 aren't exact dupes, they really close to one another.
Usually, I would have kept one and dumped the rest, but this time round,
I think I might keep all 3.
Just for the reason that all 3 are brands that ain't available in Singapore
and these are all sent by lovely people.

MAC Earthly Harmony

MAC Earthly Harmony.
Had high hopes for this one based on the bottle.

2 coats + 1 coat SV

Ok, it fell short of my expectations,

But it ain't that bad.
Still pretty to look at,
and I don't own a taupe with gold shimmer

I guess I expected the shimmer to sparkle instead.
Oh well.

Was hoping to check out some new blogs,
then I saw my blog listed!!

Battle of the Dupes: MAC Bad Fairy vs OPI The Show Must Go On

OPI The Show Must Go On from the Burlesque Collex

vs the elusive MAC Bad Fairy

I didn't get my bottle of BF from Singapore.
It was like SOLD OUT in less than half an hour of the stores opening.
*madness*
Had a kind NB'er ship it to me when she managed to purchase an extra bottle.

I have to apologise.
I didn't realise that I had ding-ed my nails until I saw the photos...
*darn marco*

OPI on the Pinky and Middle fingers
MAC on the Ring and Index ones.

3 coats each + 1 coat SV

At least this one ain't a dupe.
Pretty close but an exact.
Would say that MAC is the magneta sister to OPI's more fuschia version.

Unless of cos you are like a colleague who thinks that magneta and fuschia is all the same.

And here's the indoor shot.

Battle of the Dupes: MAC Formidable vs Misa Embroidered Emerald vs Orly Galaxy Girl

This series of the battle of the dupes is making me wonder again why I went through the hassle of getting the MAC VV polishes...

MAC Formidable

Misa Embroidered Emerald
This one was on my 2009 Top 20 list.
Loved it. Still do =)

Orly Galaxy Girl

Pinky and Index: Misa Embroidered Emerald
Ring: MAC Formidable
Middle: Orly Galaxy Girl

Each one was 4 coats + 1 coat SV

Embroidered Emerald is the most distinct of the 3 polishes.
The new pigment that is being used in the MAC and Orly ones kinda creates a foil/sparkly look while the Misa one is more of a steady shimmer.
Plus the shimmer in the Misa one comes across more greenish while the other 2 flash teal.

Also, in the bottle, the teal flash in the MAC bottle appeared a little more pronounced as compared to Orly Galaxy Girl.
However, on the nails, they're really almost identical.

Oh well. If MAC had the villians printed onto the bottles,
I would have held on to the bottles.
As it is now, I'm throwing out 2 outta the 3.
